CHYANNE CHEN — Standing Up for Our Neighborhoods.
For Chyanne Chen — our neighborhoods are her foundation, not a stepping stone.
For too long, District 11 and its residents have been left behind. We deserve better than status quo politicians. We need a neighbor like Chyanne Chen who will make sure our neighborhood voice is heard at City Hall.
Chyanne Chen is a neighborhood advocate, committed to fighting for working families and creating a city where every family can thrive. As supervisor, Chyanne will work to:

Enhance our safety and prevent crime by increasing the presence of frontline emergency personnel including police officers, investing in proven crime prevention programs and improving the efficiency of 911 response to keep our families safe.

Build truly affordable housing where it makes sense, especially near transit and great jobs, while preventing displacement of our residents and protecting against rising rents.

Bring everyone indoors through a comprehensive approach to homelessness, including transitional and permanent supportive housing, data-driven homelessness prevention and wraparound social services.

Support every generation — from our children to our elderly. Chyanne will push to invest in early childhood educators, after-school programs, vocational training and interventions for at-risk youth, home care workers, elderly care and individuals with disabilities.

Revive our small businesses through cross-cultural business events and incubators for immigrants, people of color and women. Reducing street crime and fostering a safer environment will also make our district more appealing for business development.

Ensure all residents have the opportunity to thrive by identifying resources and sites for affordable, quality housing and convenient transportation. Chyanne is committed to expediting housing approvals and eliminating redundant regulations to create more family- and senior-friendly affordable homes.

Invest in safe and reliable transit, pedestrian, bicycle and street infrastructure, as well as in libraries, parks and recreational facilities.

Chyanne knows that the powerful have had their say — it’s time for our neighborhoods to have their day!

Chyanne Chen has lived in District 11 for the last 24 years. At the age of 15, she immigrated to the United States from a small village in China with her family in search of the American Dream. She has worked as an organizer, advocating for cross-racial solidarity, and immigrant and workers’ rights. She is a mother of two daughters and a caretaker of elderly parents. Chyanne’s vision for District 11 is comprehensive and community-centered — rooted in inclusivity, sustainability and a better quality of life for all residents.
